How can Promise help me with Duty of Care?

Staff cars that are occasionally used for business (the grey fleet) represent a serious risk. The Health and Safety Act 1974 and the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Acts 2007 mean that the business must put robust controls in place to manage this risk. Because Promise is a fully managed service, you can effectively ensure that staff vehicles are properly maintained, always taxed and always have a valid MOT certificate. It goes a long way to helping you make sure that staff cars are fit for purpose.

For organisations where a fully managed service is less of an issue, we can easily remove these services.

What about my carbon footprint?

Cars get better every year. There's no doubt that a singular benefit of The Promise Car Club is a natural reduction of carbon output because your staff will change cars every two or three years. And because mileage traveled on business in these cars counts towards your overall carbon footprint, it's a great way to cut the CO2 emissions of the business. If you're really concerned about the environment, we can even introduce a CO2 cap to help the business encourage staff to drive greener vehicles. That way, you can achieve year on year reductions in CO2.

We're committed to help our clients drive down CO2 and to reduce their carbon footprint. ACVM is a select partner in the Government's ACT ON CO2 campaign. We believe that CO2 reductions are most readily achieved by changes to vehicle policy and changes to driver behaviour. We concentrate on making sure your people are in the right cars for the right job.

No administration, no risk, no worries

The beauty of The Promise Car Club is that once you've sent out invitations for your staff to join the club, we take care of everything else. The business has no setup fees, no administration, no risk and absolutely no worries at all. We deal with applications, vehicle orders, deliveries and collections. We credit check your staff. If they default, it's our problem - not yours. If they leave your employment, there's no problem because the Promise agreement is directly between the member and ACVM. All in all, it's a positively painless exercise for the business.

The Members Area

The Promise Car Club is primarily a web product. It's best experienced here - online. We'll give you a generic login to get everyone started, then staff can come to the club site, register properly, login to the Members Area and check out the latest offers. We'll customise the Members Area so your staff feel more at home - a splash of company corporate colour here and there works wonders! We find it's worth adding a link to the club site to your own Intranet, just to make it a little easier for people to find.

And of course, we also have a dedicated sales support team at the end of a phone, so we're on hand to deal with any enquiries that may arise during normal office hours.

Spreading the word

Promise is a voluntary benefits scheme, rather than a flexible benefits scheme. Staff don't sacrifice salary, so there's no tedious record-keeping or extra overhead for Payroll or HR. All you have to do is let your people know that you've setup a voluntary scheme for them, by sending out invitations to join the club. If you need help in this area, we can send out invitations for you. We can also provide posters, leaflets and payroll inserts (we've found this especially useful where staff may not readily have access to the internet).
